In 2021, Kenneth E. Knapp founded Knapp Labs LLC out of a passion for cutting-edge dental materials and a “looking beyond apparent constraints” approach to additive manufacturing. Now that vision is culminating in a breakthrough 3D-printed monolithic zirconia crown device slated for a 2026 launch (pending FDA approval). This full-ceramic crown boasts internal shading and extraordinary life-like esthetics, all enabled by Knapp’s novel 3D-Laser Chemical Vapor Deposition (3D-LCVD) process (patent pending), an innovative leap emblematic of his visionary mindset.
With a career spanning decades, Knapp has consistently broken new ground. He pioneered spintronic magnetic recording head technologies at Read-Rite Corp. and later led nanozirconia R&D and ISO-compliant manufacturing at Glidewell Laboratories. He also holds an extensive patent portfolio (23+ U.S. inventions), underscoring a track record of innovation that fuels the bold vision behind Knapp Labs’ latest dental breakthrough.
